This month Broadview staff contributed their time and some much-needed supplies to give back to our community.
Blood Drive
You have the power to give life, for only about an hour of your time you can help those in need. Your donation can treat cancer patients, bring a car crash victim through surgery, even help a transplant patient’s new heartbeat for the first time.
Half of all Canadians will either need blood or know someone who will at some point in their lives, but only 4% of Canadians donate!
Donate for the sense of satisfaction of a good deed, but stay for the cookies and juice.

Winnipeg Humane Society Pet Hamper
In 2015, the WHS took in 8,832 animals – 6,044 Cats; 1,835 Dogs; and 953 critters. Out of those brought in 4,607 were adopted. Without the support of their volunteers and the community the WHS would not be able to do what they do. Between the day to day operations at the shelter, the numerous events and education sessions they hold, helping with administrative duties and collecting donations they worked a total 42,599 hours with the shelter.
There are so many ways that you can help the WHS and this quarter Broadview provided a hamper full of goodies for the animals that are currently at the shelter.
If you are unable to donate time or money, something as simple as saving your flyers and newspapers and dropping them off at the end of the month can go a long way.

Adopt-A-Highway
For the past 3 years Broadview has dedicated our time to keeping a 6 KM stretch of Highway 15 clear of litter. Our biannual cleanup is open to friends and family of staff and has always had our highest number of volunteers show up and lend a hand.
We are always happy to contribute to the beautification of our community and often find ourselves in competition for finding the strangest object. This year’s contestants were: A full metal bedframe, and a prepaid Visa with a balance of $1.00
