When it comes to Adobe InDesign, you now have a choice to make: buy or rent?
Buying Creative Suite 6
Whether upgrading old copies or buying new ones, you can purchase the Suite for a one-time fee. After this, you can use the software for as long as you want.
Upgrades to CS6 start at only $375.
Renting through Creative Cloud
Instead of paying a one-time, upfront fee, Creative Cloud allows you to pay a monthly subscription fee for access to the Suite. You can start or stop subscribing at any time, and you still get the same apps installed locally on your computer.
Rather than waiting for major update releases, this subscriber model allows for new features to be updated as soon as they’re ready. (This includes updates to Acrobat Pro!)
Other benefits include 20GB of online storage, a Typekit account, and iOS apps.
If you already own CS3-CS5, or you’re a teacher or student, there’s a special introductory price of only $30/month!
New to Creative Suite? Not to worry, with a year contract you can have access to the Cloud for $50/month, or $75/month with no fixed contract.
So which is right for you?
Know your way around Creative Suite already? Not planning to upgrade often? Purchasing CS6 outright is probably your best option. You’ll have permanent access for a one-time fee.
If you’re new to the programs, or if you don’t need permanent access, Creative Cloud is a better deal. With one low monthly fee, plus complete access to any and all upgrades (around a $400 value per version).
Still not sure which version to go with? Sign in to the Cloud for free and get access to 2GB of online storage.
